Startup’s Madlibs Pitch—How to do an elevator pitch that’s Memorable!
When I was running the Founder Institute in Seattle we used Adeo’s Madlibs pitch. I’ve updated it based on feedback from a few 1000 pitches and added a couple of themes.
- How do you make money
- Where do you need help
- Who are you? I know you know, but the audience needs to know
- Your Company Name – say it s l o w l y!
- Insert one problem – not 16
- You’re not a platform (platform = no customers) be a product first
- Who is your ideal customer profile at launch—not your Total Addressable Market (TAM)
- How do you make money? Subscription, commerce, etc. Here’s the 14 revenue models to choose from
- Brag up your team!
- What do you need help with? Custoemrs, recriting a CTO, raising money? You have an agenda, don’t leave me guessing.
Use this as your elevator pitch or to test your value propositions with your target ICP!
